Green Clean Africa (GCA) is a pioneering environmental organization focused on transforming Africa’s environmental challenges into sustainable growth opportunities through innovation, awareness, and community empowerment. Headquartered in Addis Ababa and operating continent-wide, GCA is committed to advancing sustainable practices, green job creation, and climate resilience. Through a combination of advocacy, community engagement, and cutting-edge technologies, GCA promotes clean energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture. GCA’s initiatives include training youth and SMEs in green skills, empowering communities through environmental education, and championing climate action aligned with the African Union’s Green Recovery Action Plan and the SDGs. Its mission is to foster environmental literacy and eco-friendly entrepreneurship, helping Africa lead the global shift toward sustainability and resilience.
Since our inception, we’ve been committed to empowering communities, businesses, and youth across Africa to adopt sustainable practices, advocate for climate action, and drive positive change. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and empowerment, we work at the intersection of environmental sustainability and social development to create lasting impact.
Our Story
GCA’s journey began with a vision to create a greener and more resilient Africa. Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable solutions, our founder, Heaven Belihu, set out to build an organization that would not only raise environmental awareness but also offer tangible solutions to the continent’s most pressing challenges—such as waste management, climate change, and sustainable livelihoods.
What started as a small initiative in Ethiopia has now grown into a pan-African movement, with offices in Kenya and Morocco, and a network of dedicated experts working across the continent. We host impactful events, conduct groundbreaking research, and empower businesses and individuals to be part of the solution.
